Here is the rough calculation I came up with:

There are 7,000,000,000 people on earth.

50% are the opposite sex which is 3,500,000,000.

A soul mate is 1 in a 1,000,000 which is 3,500.

10% are in the right demographic which is 350.

Therefore, you have roughly 350 soul mates who you could actually have a life with.

Likewise, you have roughly 350 soul friends.
