"Survival Doc" finds a vintage clothes washer at an estate sale, restores it, and demonstrates how it can be used to wash clothes by hand after an emergency, disaster or economic collapse if the electricity is off or if water is in short supply. This clothes washing device, also known as a Mobile Washer or hand operated washing machine, is available from suppliers of emergency equipment and supplies.

  • Can you use the soap water to water your garden? Also, I love your clothes dryer. I have one myself. Sometimes I lay clothes on bushes to dry.

  • @genmama1955 Yes, the wash water is good for your garden.

  • popS* a plunger for 5 bucks will do the job as well...

  • @glasseverywhere Nope, this device allows air and water to pass through it which forces the water through the material to clean it. A plunger will not do the same job.

  • Can you use the soap water to water your garden?

  • honestly if i had limeted water and no elec. then i wouldnt wash clothes

  • FANTASTIC solar dryer. What are those things called that you attach your clothes to the dryer with? I was thinking that fish hooks would work well; but they look like they'd work better. I invented a stick with a "V" notch on the top end so that my clothes don't drag the ground. I was thinking about calling it a "clothes prop;" but I think a "solar dryer support rod" might be a better name.

  • Excellent video! I will be ordering one of these units. Do not shave your beard! Blessings In Christ- Anthony.

  • nice job at finding one im still looking for one ...
