Well, throughout most of the book, I don't feel pity for her, but in this scene, I do. Favell is using her, and she really doesn't seem to know what to do about him. She was loyal to Rebecca, but to a fault. I just try to picture if I was in her shoes, and it kinda changes the perception. : )

She was loyal to Rebecca but she was also in loved with her. She wanted Rebecca for herself. But, no, I do not pity Ms. Danvers. She was a true man hater and a crazy stalker to boot.
