Superman-The Movie first premiered in over 500 U.S. theaters on December 15, 1978, with a running time of 144 minutes. Since that time, different editions have been released on home video and television with various running times, the longest "official" release to consumers being the expanded 152-minute Special Edition DVD in 2001. This restoration project-- officially entitled, Superman-The Movie: Restored International Cut, hopes to combine all of the available extended footage from the different television cuts from around the world to make the longest running, uninterrupted "definitive" cut. • I didn't think Lana Lang was *that* upset over Clark.

Hey, and what happened to 'Rock Around The Clock'?

  • Rock Around The Clock did not appear in the tv version.

  • From 0:00 to 0:13, the dust trail should not be moving as fast as it was. Irrespective of how fast Clark was running, the dust getting picked up as he ran should be moving as it would normally - though I concede it would have been very difficult for the effect to have been realised.

  • Most movies film more than what is used, and no different was done here. If you listen to some of the extra lines and what not, you can see ad-libs going on, just to keep active til the camera stops rolling. All that has happened here, was reverse editing to pad out time, and get more bucks for network release

  • wow, i've never seen or heard of this long version with the kids in the car.. lana looked bored or upset with the clark hold up, but in my opinion this scene was pointless. just kinda dragged with nothing to prove or show. and i prefer the other song audio of rock the clock better.

  • My problem with this scene was always...the shoes. Running in excess of a 65 mph train, and his shoes are still in as good condition as any normal teenager's? Yes, I know the crap they spew sometimes in the comics about Kal-El giving off some force field to make his clothing just as 'super'. No. He wouldn't. His strength is based on a combination of higher molecular density, and a Kryptonian physiology that involves a solar-amplified, quantum-hyper-metabolism. The shoes should be torched.

  • @TheRescorer ohhhh well fuck me.

  • @DarPower1 which is in kansas

  • @DarPower1 this...is...SMALLLVILLE!!!!
