    fixes. And unless I'm mistaken, the U.S. WASN'T EVEN IN RECESSION THEN! They wouldn't be in recession until July of 1953.

    Back when shit cost probably only 1/4th what it costs today (or LESS)

    Besides, didn't WW2 and victory cause an EXPLOSION in economic growth?? GI Bill gave lots of veterans new opportunities?

    How 'high' could inflation back then POSSIBLY have been??

    As much as I like Ike, the really SAD thing about these ads is that THEY'RE MORE ABOUT PERSONALITY THAN POLICY, it seems.  He says "It's time for a change" and claims he'll "Fix it", but he doesn't PROPOSE any actual
