My 19 year old guitarist son,Ian,& I are going Oct 17 to Thick as a Brick I & 2 in San Diego. This will be my 50th-ish time seeing JT/IA. I met Ian & Martin a couple times & both signed my son's mini Les Paul when he was 5 (I named my son Ian as Its the last half of my name, Brian,+ because I love Jethro Tull.) I gave my son a Thick as a Brick album 10 years ago with the full newspaper. Last year he called to thank me,as he had just discovered it. Can't wait for our Father & Son Tull outing!

I finally saw Ian Anderson perform around 1987 at the Universal Ampitheatre here in Los Angeles. Jethro Tull opened with 'Songs from the Wood' and it was a memorable show.

Truly a one-off band!! BTW If you ever wondered what was behind the lyrics of some of Tull's folksier repertoire, I can recommend "The Phantoms of 3000 Years", a great little book available from Amazon.
