    the film is not picking out any race in particular -- it is highlighting the overall social issue.

    The fact that its explored from the angle of the black lead character is more to due to the writing style. If you watch it again, the lead character is rather aloof and making moot points to justify his own insercurities.

  • This movie is dumb. Indian parents are racist against everyone, not just blacks. India is a segregation-orientated country, IE. Castes, etc... so people are having to break generations of tradition accepting people from other racial profiles. Parents have to 'accept' something even when their child's partner is Indian but from a different religion or region so if your a different race altogether, what do you expect? The racial struggle Blacks face is not the only racial struggle.
