i5 2500k 5ghz cinebench 11.5 (7.80).AVI

sorry for the poor video quality. managed to get my 2500k running at 5ghz at 1.46v although i have now put it back to 4.4ghz as i dont want to kill the cpu

@PickYourVenom yes i would say some where around the 7.10 to 7.20 range for 4.6ghz

Cinebench 11.5 says my cpu is at 3.3ghz but obviously its at 5ghz giving a 7.80 score

@binaryman937 well look it at this way, if you see an increase in performance of30% in a new app using HP with SandyB(line cineBench 11.5) you can expect to see an increase of the same amount when using Old P4 cpus, and that is true if you find an app that can take full advantage of HT and gives you a 50% boost, but gues what? same is also true for old apps that did not way back then,if they could not use HT at all, they will not do it today..

That so? Hmm, never thought to run cinebench on my old P4 :P. I guess that would be interesting to see though.

@thelegendbullet937 HyperThreading is the same as alsways what have changed is there are more apps that takes advantage of them now than way back then in the P4 years, why I say this? well I still have one of them HT P4 and when using CineBench 11.5 which is a HT aware app, guess what? I get a 30% increase in performance, same difference as 2600k vs 2500k guys are doing 10 points in cinebench 11.5 at 5GHZ.. so its the same..HT will ALWAYS give you the same advantage regardless of CPU arch.

Lol, I was just stating how interesting it is the difference hyper threading is, I always underestimated it.  Clearly they've improved HT since Pentium 4s ;)

And if you think a 2500k beats a 2600k in games, you need to check out some benchmarks. The 2600k not only is clocked higher at stock, but it has 2MB more cache. It's faster than a 2500k in almost everything lol. The 2500k is only slightly better at overclocking because it doesn't have HT, which I can disable thus matching it.

@thelegendbullet937 lol funny comment my i7 2nd gen is better than your i5 2nd gen,, well don't you think it should thats the whole point of it but just remember you can't beat him with games at thw moment maybe later when games use more than four cores ;-)

Goes to show how much a difference hyper threading makes. My i7 2600k scores an 8.12 at a modest 4.2Ghz.
