  • It stinks that some people accuse Leon Ware of stealing from the I Want You album when he's the one who created the songs for it. Marvin's version of this song does justice to it though, and I guess that' s what all producers want at the end of the day. But it's cool to know he could sing this well too, and this was pretty revolutionary for the time.

  • Leon has had a lot of comparisons with Marvin - shame for him because Marvin was so great. I think Leon would have been elevated higher in his own right had he not had that burdon to bare. I am a bit frustrated with his music as it seems that you really have to pick out the better tracks from sometimes very average offerings.

Seen him live at the Jazz cafe, London... very smooth!

  • @DustySoulLtd An argument that rages on and on. I love both of them but it is sad that Leon never got the acclaim he no doubt deserved. I saw Leon live at the Jazz Cafe a while back but sadly never got to see Marvin.

  • @randiddle68 Apparently you don't know your musical history. Leon wrote the entire "I Want You" album, and it was HIS decision to allow Marvin to record HIS material, and he also produced and did the background vocals and instrumentation. Sad when folks open their mouthes without knowing facts.

  • I like this version for the livelyness and the heavy reverb too it

  • sweet!!!!!

  • I love both versions by Leon and Marvin.

  • Leon's version has a dreamy mood. Your mind kind of just floats with the tune without any resistance.

  • oooohhh. this is soooo good...

  • Just found out this is from his Taste The Love album, which came out in 95. I knew this sounded too recent to be 70's material.

  • i love this original version even more, i believe, no disrespect to the great Marvin Gaye and his sublime interpretation...

  • good music
