Professor Owl talks about the importance of melody in life, which he claims is only present in two animals: birds and humans. His interest lies in the latter, as he follows the human life cycle and illustrates different places you can find melody. This was the first American animated 3-D film; here it is only offered in 2-D.

I never saw this one but I saw the sing-alongs as a kid. GOD I loved those, this is good, but I love those better, plus in my opinion, it had better voices for Professor Owl and Birdy Birdbrain (never knew that was his name).

Thanks so much for posting this. I used to sing the intro to my youngest daughter, Melody. It is how I taught her to spell her name. Great memories:)

@Mortadelo658 yes I knew that it won an Academy Award in 53, and it truely was a magnificent short that Disney ever made.

In fact, Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom won the Academy Award fort Best Short Cartoon in 1953.
