3rd Degree- Using Reason as a Virtual MPC

This is basically a short tutorial on how to make Reason perform similar to an MPC. By changing the polyphony and release, Reason is able to immatate the "MONO" function of an mpc perfectly.

how do i stop a slice playing the whole slice?for eg. u hit pad1,and say half way thru that slice playing,u hit pad2.. pad2 cuts off the slice being triggered by pad1,now the slice being triggered by pad2 lasts abit too long, and theres a bit on the end that is usually cut off when u hit pad1 again, now say i dont hit pad1 again coz i want it to just cut out at the1st beat of the next bar and have the beat playing on its own,but the remaining "useless" part of slice2 bleeds over to the next bar

@0001musicman If you don't have another slice of audio to cut off the slice before, you can always add some silence at the end, you would have to do this before you chop (or after, it will just say that the file has been modified). You can use the silence to cut off the audio. I don't do this often but on occasion, I have had to add a portion of silence to make it work.

The other alternative is automating. You can automate the level of the DR. Rex and just cut it out.

@0001musicman.. thanks for the swift response bro! just to clarify, by saying"add silence to the end".. do u mean, do this when creating the rexfile in recycle?..and create a slice with just silence on it?... also what do u mean exactly when u say.. "(or after, it will just say that the file has been modified)" ? Thanks
