To show off the improvements of MWLL 0.2.0, here's four minutes of explosive action with a song about a 'Mega Man 2' boss in the background- what more can you ask for?

'MechWarrior: Living Legends' is a free total conversion for Crysis, available at http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/

Music available at OverClocked ReMix - http://www.ocremix.org
The Megas - 'The Annihilation of Monsteropolis'

I figure, if a 'mech could speak (and play a guitar in a small indie band), this is what it'd be singing.

Note: The clip at the end is actually really old, but I ran out of explosion footage- and you have to admit, it's a nice kaboom. Technically, it's two critical cores edited together, since the first was poorly recorded. Luckily, they both happened at the exact same spot on the map within minutes of each other.

  • Change the record volume in the control panel for wave to about mid way, as well check your recorder's settings, and assume you're encoding the video before uploading, check it's sound options. A few will allow different audio codecs and db boosts

  • @fyrye2 I thought I tried this earlier, but it would seem I was mistaken. A trial recording with the wave and "what u hear" settings at around 5% produced clear, if ridiculously quiet, audio. Now to just finetune it; Hopefully I can get the volume to an audible level without getting more artifacts, either from explosions or decibel boosting in Audacity.

  • Really nice montage!

Only the sound sucks a bit, oversteers. :-/

  • @ragor79 Yeah, I still haven't figured out why the recording kills itself on bass- I thought switching from 7.1 to stereo sound would solve it, but no dice. So I've started putting music in some tracks to help cover it up. If it helps, though, this is how loud things are ingame anyways.

  • @Sasherra Take into account that 1) they not always detonate like that and 2) the reactors used may be very different from our contemporary ones.

  • Pretty awesome, even though the fusion reactors in the 'Mechs would never detonate like a nuclear device, it's still a nice effect for a video game.

  • Holly shit after watching this again its going to be hard getting back to Mechwarrior 4... Ah who am i kidding, don't care about awesome huge mega blaster explosions :( ! Game is still grat :)
