  • where is a good place to go get one of those things because i was thinking about biulding a deck

  • @TheFigureskatingrock I talked to the owners about selling direct. Try to locate their website. What did I call it in the video? Form Footer I think?

  • So do you leave the plastic in the hole too or can you pull it out and reuse it? It looks like it's all molded together.

  • @Maxid1 You leave this in the hole. Imagine how hard it would be and how much time it would take to create the form yourself - especially if you want to do the pour at one time. If you do the pour in two steps it's somewhat easier, as you have the footer to rest the cardboard sonotube on. Remember, the steel comes precut, there are holders for all vertical and horizontal steel. Just imagine how you would get the same result without this product.

  • @Nemo1181 I have a column at my AsktheBuilder website about the precast piers. You will NOT set those by hand. You must have a backhoe. They weigh well over 1,000 pounds. What I didn't explain well in the video is the fact how hard it is to form one knowing you're doing the entire pour at once.

  • @kastnmagic LESS than $100 is what he said. But it depends on the frost level where you live so it could come to 100. Plus a precast could cost less but you'd need something(unless its brute strength) to lift it off the truck and in the hole so the cost could be about the same. Remember the last thing you want to do is redo your deck.

  • @hitachi088 I think the public can attend. But it's expensive!!! I believe a pass into the show is well over $200. As a member of the Press, I get free credentials. Go to their website. Google Remodelers Show Chicago 2011

  • NICE! But $100 per pier is too much for my budget....

  • is those show open to the normal people, or just contractors?
