Yes, but got denied by the ICC 4-1 vote in 1986. They were going to call themselves SPSF or Shouldn't Paint So Fast beginning of 1983. Reason for the denied was because of too many duplicated routes. Didn't matter, Oct of 1988 SP bought out DRGW. I rather see SP buy out SF than the BNSF merger anyday. I love the Kodachrome scheme with SP and SF on them.

Yes DRGW Took over SP and stayed with the Southern Pacific name. Because it could be spread around the system easier. Thats why SOuthern Pacific's Logo Changed how it did.
