@mythril4 we once had far more working railways that handled all the freight we needed. the shift to trucking was mainly the result of GM lobbying hard for more tax dollars spent on highway construction. they also bought up train transport systems and shut them down, tore up tracks, scrapped the cars.
we will have to go back to trains, which ARE far safer by the way, once you truckers burn up the last of the cheap crude oil.
all your whining won't change energy shortage reality.

@mythril4 so the warped, black and white reasoning in your mind is that to reject trucking without being a hypocrite is to also reject all technology and join the amish? that's fucking stupid. only a stupid person would say something like that. such an incredibly stupid argument doesn't even dignify a rational response.
back up your shit with stats, not anecdotes. anecdotes are not science, they're mainly just bullshit. i'm sure your trucker pals always blame cars for their fuckups.

You consume, we live in... a consumer society. You can't drive a train to every town and city. Trains are like ships, they can only haul quantity to common areas which they do, from those common areas things have to be shipped in.
If you don't like this fact, you should learn to become Amish...oh yeah... they depend on trucks too... who knew..
I can't wait to watch your eyes while your kids play around all those railways they had to pack each town with, soooo safe I am sure.

I'll stick with my guns, having been on the roads, yeah, after watching what those little cars do in front of us ad around us. I know where you little paper el-statistics comes from, you talking about polluting, this has nothing to do with safety. All our stores and towns are still built next to rail roads?? Not to mention crowding cities with railways is going to be safe somehow? Until you spend the time on the road your self for 500,000 miles at least, you know nothing.

@mythril4 so being a trucking company helper makes you some kind of expert on accident statistics? truckers are human and humans are fallible, and driving a huge heavy rig amongst much smaller, lighter vehicles is a recipe for fatalities, especially when they are foregoing sleep to make good time.
no matter what you can't deny that railcar transport is far safer and far more efficient/less polluting. trucking is only viable when gas prices are low enough as we learned in 2008.

I can always tell when someone knows nothing about the trucking industry. I have helped run a trucking company since I was young, I know what it's all about. I can tell you right now, you have no clue. Most wrecks are from some idiot 4 wheeler driver (someone in a car), pulling off retarded stunts around truckers.
-
Hey man... Treat truck drivers with respect, they own the road first. Remember, it because of our drivers you get have a full grocery store at your disposal, why you can just go to a hardware store and get some goods. If anyone should get off the road first, it's pleasure drivers in cars.
-
lol, like we are going to bow to that threat.,, accept what comes,,your an ass and should have your license revoked, you dont threaten taxpayers then expect us to back you moron get of the road and stop whining
-
@nightmoveson31 Oh I'm wide awake, unlike truckers that kill people. But thanks for your concern.
-
@jwallbanger wake up dickhead.
Yea, and it's bullshit that they get away with shutting them down and using truck's as a target for revenue because there is no place to park. Yet they bitch that we cause most accidents do to fatigue. Something has to give somewhere.

In all my times of driving in Virginia, it is appalling to see the lack of parking for truckers up there. These fools don't realize tha danger they are creating by ignoring this problem. i
