Another song of my young adulthood. Back then, the sun was brighter, times were more fun, love was deeper, people laughed more, and the sex....well, much, much better. God, getting old sucks.

Lyrics by Dory Previn who passed away just a few days ago at age 86.

@michaelheintz1833 I agree 100%. This song is gripping, and it's like being on a beautiful three minute journey when you're listening to this song! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful song. Dory Previn lives on through her music.

Getting all gooey hearing this again after four decades. Brings back the churned up emotions of my teenage years when I was painfully shy and yearned for love and it never came. Just read today the lady who wrote it has died. Thank you Dory Previn. RIP

I love this song. Reminds me of the movie, "A Sterile Cuckoo" with Liza Minelli

"Just I and my friend we'll travel for miles in our Saturday smiles"....Wow what a great thought and concept. A terrific feel good song from that time in the late 60's. Every generation has their mark and this song was one. Thank goodness for YouTube keeping those gems alive for the next generation. It is a public service!
I love the song and the painting or photograph at 1:07. Could you tell me about the print? Thanks for posting the song:)

@hudsondg Actually, I haven't a clue about the picture at 1:07, but I do like it, as well. Use google images and plug in "saturday morning" and see if it shows up--that's probably what I did. That might have been part of the title, because there's nothing about it visually that indicates it has anything to do with Saturday morning.

@neukertification It's gratifying and reassuring. And thank you for being one of them, too.

Why can't people just enjoy the music? There seems to alway be at least one person that tries to ruin the posting.

@The1957girl I assume you're referring to my discussion with "harponercam." I know it may seem annoying, and I apologize, but when someone posts comments equating the US with vicious, murderous regimes, I feel compelled to respond. On a happier note, did you know that 1957 was the biggest year of the baby boom?
