There are different levels of glitz. The more high glitz the pageant is the more the prizes are in most circumstances. This video looks like a medium glitz pageant to me. As for me, I begged to do high glitz as a child and my mother would rarely allow it. It is rare that a child is forced to do any pageant let alone a high glitz pageant because of the money that goes into it. The little girls are playing dress-up. I always loved doing high glitz because I felt like a princess.

Looking closely at these particular audience members is acutely uncomfortable, as they are as hideous, malformed a bunch of Redneck neanderthals as one could ever imagine. Are we talking about the same kind of pageants, though? Those, like this one, which amount to talent contests, however bizarre, might just border on the distasteful. I'm sure you'd agree, thowever, that those involving tiny little girls tarted up like street whores are something to be abhorred by all right-minded people.

Pageants aren't usually open to the public. If you look closely all of the people in the audience are family members. Every person that is inside of the location that the pageant is being held in (usually a large conference room at a hotel like where they have wedding receptions) has to have a badge or bracelet or some form of id that says they are supposed to be there and which contestant they are with. People can't walk in off the street and watch in most cases.

Most people manage to create for themselves the kinds of chances you describe without the need to be exposed to an activity which is well known to attract the worst kind of sexual deviants. No, I'm not in any way blaming you for having been used in such a manner, since you were only a child at the time, but I think you are irresponsible in trying to lend some kind of respectability to something so utterly foul.

I wasn't preyed upon by pedophiles, and I'm not a pageant mom, I was a pageant kid. The chances that I am talking about are learning to be comfortable in front of large groups of people and commanding their attention, making friends and getting to travel all over the nation for pageants and all over the world from the prize money won in the pageants. Most of these kids love what they are doing, so, once again, I'm saying that if you are uneducated on the topic please stop talking about it.
