I could have also titled this video "War with the Tripod". I was shooting a video project with a friend when we heard this train coming. Since I have wanted to get in to "rail fanning" for quite some time, we decided to literally sprint as fast as we could down to the tracks. As you will see, I got the camera and tripod set up just in time. However, the run down the hill tightened up the tripod and messed up the legs, so I spent some parts of the video fighting with it and trying to loosen and even it up. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my first train video and the story behind it!

This video is for Dieselducy because he got me interested in trains in the first place.

  • That's one l o n g train! :)

  • @jimster586 That's a pretty common length around here. Flat land and straight tracks allow for some really long trains. If you're at a crossing on slower tracks near a city, a coal train can hold you up for over 5 minutes.
