This reminds me: In 1984, my friends invited me to bicycle with them near the Olympic torch-bearer; but I had to work that day. On the way home, my bus halted near Rodeo and Wilshire; police cars seemed to surround us. We waited several minutes. An accident, perhaps? Then - THE OLYMPIC TORCH bearer ran by! Since we were all elevated, riding the bus, every bus rider had a grand view. And everyone on the bus was laughing and shouting with delight!
I'll never forget it. I'll re-live it this Sunday!
