Btw, about Servers: How many Servers have been hacked lately? Have you look at the details on how some of the biggest happend (on Linux or Linux-based/forked machines)? Also, because someone mentioned Android (/Linux) as popular: Androids security-threats are gaining momentum, as we speak. There is already a considerable and not to underestimate amount of malware out in the wild for it. Recently, the spike up for threats is plus, minus 30-40%. Thus, many sec. companys are releasing mobile Antiv.

@AleXy86 Btw, I, myself, have had maleware on both, Mac and Linux. That is why I started looking up information on this issue. There is no system, that is 100% fail-safe/secure. Not even "closed" systems like gaming-consoles are. That alone should tell you something.

1. Linux Distros are just as vulnurable as Windows, if not even more. 2. Windows runs programs on files that you happen to have on your computer. And on a Linux Distro you don't do that eh? Wrong. 3. The Mac (OSX) is open to virus-threats also. Linu is free if you want to. Most linux distros are free (Debian) while there is non free too (Xandros). With Enterprise Linux same story, paid (Red Hat), free (CentOS).
