You Don't Have To Cry was the first song they ever sang together.

Crosby and Stills had just started working together, and were playing this song at a party at Mama Cass's place. Graham Nash happened to be there. He asked them to run through it a few more times...and then he joined in.

Everybody was blown away by the magical sound of these three voices blending together, and the rest is history...

You are right Ron that Stephen is the songwriter as David Crosby based his "Deja Vu" on Essra Mohawk's "I Have Been Here Before.' True story. Have a listen.
