My sister had this played at her wedding! It was beautiful and so was she! They stood at the alter and held hands staring into each others eyes while the song played! Everybody in church was crying!Listen to the song and at the same time picture the above...it simply melts your heart! Just as it did that magical day in 1990! They are happily married with three wonderful kids! In all actuality, it is still very near and dear to us even though it was that long ago!!! Thank you Amy Grant!!!!

Simply....the most beautiful love song,written for my spiritual friend and lover of my soul. @snakewheels she has recently described this song as "romantic." I remember this because i had always assumed it was written for, or at least dedicated to, her first son who was born during the making of the album.

BTW i think its unfair, presumptuous and judgmental to say she cared for her career but not for her husband at that time. 1986 was a tough year for them due to his drug addiction and her miscarriage but 87/88 were happy times for them, especially with the birth of matt.

@mhalbrook I guess you could be right. To me though, the words, especially later in the song make no sense written to an audience. "When life is long and problems come, you'll always be my only ONE" Sounds like a husband wife relationship to me, but however people interpret the song is fine. I have no doubt that she would have used it as a song "for" the audience in concert considering that she did indeed consider her audience and career more important than her husband at the time. Sad.
