Red Bell Pepper works really good as well in good old fashioned southern tater salad! You can get them cheaper than pimento at times and it really adds to the flavor! Give it a try sometime Kengi. LOL on another note, if my grandmother ever caught me wearing gloves to cook things like my cornbread dressing to mix it I can just see the look she would give me lol

@Txshizzle Thanks for the suggestion, but I will not ever put red bells in my potato salad and when I have tasted in others I have not liked it either. Thanks for watching

Kengi - I've seen that show you mentioned once or twice and what was so telling was the kids had no idea what certain foods were in their natural state ....it was a shame the teachers had to teach them; what they were and where they came from ?

Not even potatoes ?......oh well we are in the bottom of ediucation ...............with respect

@blaquestrength this is a really good point blaquestrength is making. I have done some grand writing for a women'w shelter in my area. If you haven't tried by all means you should start looking toward getting some grant funds! There are so many you could qualify for. With all the new grants on the table this year your chances would be really really good!

My family has always just put smoked paprika to have the red in our potato salad...I've never heard of pimento in it! Gotta try it!

EVERYTHING looked sooooo delicious! I commend you how you keep everyone informed of what you are doing although you don't have to. I think that in doing so it allows others to be abreast of what you're doing and to become a blessing to your cause. Have you ever thought about applying for a grant(s) for your mission for transporation, foods etc.?
