My Fire Dept responding to an MVA. Dispatch said it was a poss. Entrapment. Never was, the guy made it out.

You can hear me raising hell about the damn air horn foot pedal. The officers side wasnt working right. Sometimes it would work, then others it wouldnt.

If you leave comments that it was the most boring video ever, then well, get over it. But I'm glad you sat your butt down and watched it.

  • Interesting, not the first due fire company and you're running all out the whole way, and it's been determined by EMS that the patient is not requiring extrication and still that information isn't relayed to cut back to non emergent?

  • @OliviaSST We run full emergency traffic until command slows us down. I understand what your saying, but by law if were running to a call, we must have lights AND SIRENS running. It dont matter if its 4pm or 4am. If not, we are liable for any wrecks we are involved with. No, Doesnt make much sense, we had a month long discussion about it but the laws the law. I do understand what your saying and it makes perfect sense!

    Thank you

  • @VFVFCo68 nvm....i commented part-way through the video....then i heard the yelp and got my answer.

  • Is that an EQ?

  • @FirefighterJohnM I don't understand what she's saying, but I do understand what your saying. It makes perfect sense that you run lights and sirens reguardless of the time of day or even the distance you need to go . it also makes sense that you don't slow down until command tells you too or else you could get into trouble from your chief

  • made aware of the various units responding, so that they could make the judgement that there are some coming emergent from a great distance. Again, there needs to be good communication on the part of dispatch and Incident Command, and good situational awareness on the part of the IC.

  • I'm not commenting that the lights should be used with the sirens, what I'm commenting on is the need to run emergent vs non emergent. There are over 20,000 Motor Vehicle Collisions with emergency services vehicles per year and rising. Many departments are experimenting with the concept that only the first due apparatus of particular types respond emergent while other apparatus respond non-emergent unless otherwise indicated by command. Command in this case might not have been made aware of

  • Where is this at? Nice vid!!
