Jana Natya Manch completed 38 years of work in March 2011. The group is known for its innovations in the street theatre genre, and its commitment to a popular, entertaining, robust, progressive culture. The group has continued working in the face of daunting odds, including the murder, in performance, of its founder-member, Safdar Hashmi.

In the year 2009, Janam decided to buy a space, where it can rehearse and which can be made available to other cultural groups for rehearsal, workshops and performance. After 2 years of rigorous fund-raising campaign Janam has finally bought a space of itself in New Ranjit Nagar, a lower middle class neighborhood in West Delhi.

This is the first performance in that space which was done during Janam's annual GB meeting in September. A cantastoria performance which tells you the story of journey of Janam's dream of having its own roof.
