  • @JaiUneGuruDeja true dat

  • Predation is always most disturbing when the predator is smaller than its prey.

  • The next time some Asshole thinks Im a cruel SOB for hunting dear with a gun,Im gonna tie them up and force them to watch this Video!

  • @drahydra

You're partially right. The Komodo actually does produce venom, however the bacteria it grows in it's mouth is so virulent and toxic that the little venom the Komodo actually produces doesn't do much more than slow the prey down while the diseases, and the toxins these reptiles nurture in their bloody saliva (Komodo dragon's gums bleed to support their bacterial growth) get to work killing whatever it's bitten.

At least that's what a lot of scientists think.

  • @TrueDraconic IF a komodo dragon is about the kill me, the hell with him if i got a Shotgun than his brains are getting blown.

  • Poor deer :/

  • @schmatever

Tis actually a disease that the dragons are immune to, but to others, its fatal, similar to poison. It lives in the saliva, that's the difference. Snake spit isn't dangerous, the venom is. Komodos, it doesn't matter what you touch, your done-in.

  • Scary...that deer isn't even dead yet and that Dragon is already starting to rip off a big steak out of that deer :D That's what I really call...eating alive....

  • If you google "Komodo dragon poison", you'll see that a number of articles starting 2009 are reporting that Komodo dragons have a snake-like venom, and that it the idea of the dragons killing with bacteria is outdated and incorrect. Upon biting prey, a dragon releases a toxin in its saliva which encourages rapid blood loss and shock. Afterwards, it can kill and consume its prey.

  • @dannynightview poison is not any specific enzyme the meaning is "a substance with an inherent property that tends to destroy life or impair health" - so in this case, its poison be it made up of bacteria or otherwise, its still poisonous based on the above definition.
