When your name is called and you find out you are playing Earl Anthony, the first thought I would have is "AHHH SHHHHIT!"

@BIGGREENLEAF1 Haven't seen those yet. That's really disappointing. I'm thinking the economy and the decline in the popularity of bowling has made Brunswick produce cheap pinsetters. Could be wrong tho' but that's what it appears to look like. I love the old setters! TC

@Tata996 Speaking of crap, have you seen the new Brunswick GSX pinsetter? We have them in 2 of our centers and that was the biggest mistake Brunswick ever made going away from the A-2 series, my god some of our AMF 82/30's are quicker...

earl was the greatest,,he use to win when other lefties on tour didn't cash..remember, I believe he made the tv finals in almost 30% of the tournaments he bowled..thanks for posting

I think the converse of your statement is more true: when the breaks go your way, people perceive you as great. Earl could have easily had different, much worse, results in frames 1, 7, and 8, being that the ball went through the face. However, he never left a split, and even struck once to capture a double. Not one of Earl's better matches, but at least he kept himself in it until the end with spares.

nao entendi nada

His ball looks like it rolls at 14 mph. What kind of lane conditions did the PBA use in Anthony's day?

bowled with him in buffalo at rocmar now a tops food store

he owned the tour. and when your that great the breaks go your way.
I remember watching this one live. It wasn't often that Earl would get his first double that late in the match. Baker just couldn't make the good shots late. When Earl stepped up in the 10th, I believe he knew he was going to strike. Not in an arrogant manner but just so confident. And no yelling at the cameras, no arms swinging, none of that junk like today.
Earl was simply the greatest...

In the 8th frame, Earl did pull up and made somewhat of an errant shot, but turned it into a strike. It's because someone called out before he released the ball and that can disturb the bowler.
