Because he really rows by the book; and with very difficult, old materials (presumably bending all over the place).

I still row with this kind of boat, but I don´t have wooden blades anymore. :D But in our rowing club are many world class rowers, like Jüri Jaanson, Tõnu Endrekson, and 2007 u 23 8+ world champions.

In my opinion best three scullers: IAVANOV KARPINNEN and do not forget LANGE
Technically IVANOV and LANGE are similar..check it out

Those rowers are pretty good, arms are not the best in some places though, must be hard with those oars, rowings the most legendary sport EVER , coming from a girl deeply in love with the sport XD
