A Haiku is a 17-syllable verse form traditionally consisting of three metrical units of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, but as long as you have 17 syllables you are good to go.
Clouds(1) co(2)ver(3)ing(4) the(5) sky(6) dark(7)ness(8) falls(9) up(10)on(11) us(12) it(13) is(14) cold(15) and(16) dark(17)

Haikus, and i might be wrong, are 7 first line 5 second and 7 last, and the second line of the first poem is 6, a syllable is how many vowels there are not in reptition for example, trEE is 1 and dArknEss is 2
