Cave Story - On To Grasstown - Symphony Version

I was bored and wanted to try something other than Mario Paint, so I decided to give FL Studio a try. After spending most of yesterday finding samples and teaching myself how to use it, I decided to arrange On To Grasstown (or should that be On To Bushlands) from Cave Story, as there was no (?!) symphony version of the song available.

wow that was a long sentence

I intend to make more of these, in addition to Mario Paint videos.

3. Do You have the absolute pitch? Or you simply checked the .ORG file of the song and copy/paste the notes? '_'

@chiliman93 it's not perfect - there's a number of notes i messed up while moving stuff around etc. that i'm aware of

i ripped a midi file using an org to midi converter (or something like that) but then i messed up the midi a bit

i don't have perfect pitch unfortunately but i'm getting better at figuring out stuff by ear though it takes forever

Okay. This is midi file downloaded at VGMusic. Then he replaced those midi tracks with edirol orchestral instruments. He did not make this song.

you chose also bad instruments for it.

the midi i used wasn't from vgmusic - it was ripped from the game

i then moved the tracks around a bit and replaced the instruments etc.

i'm aware some of the choices could have been better and the percussion is rubbish but i still like it a bit

Very nice, my only comment is that in the opening either the flute is too fast, or the string accents are too slow, but it comes together as soon as everything else comes in :) very good though ^___^

This is pretty great, I think the attack of the strings kinda takes away from the bounce of it a little, almost makes it sound slightly out to be honest.

Still pretty great.

It's cool, but - if you want my opinion - I think it sounds a bit like you couldn't decide between playing it true to its modern, electronic style, or playing it as a symphonic piece of classical music.

Oh and I think you overdid it with the percussion.

This isn't to say that this isn't totally awesome, because it is totalyl awesome.

i like it because it has that sort of echoy quality that would be in a cave.
