Chinese Bishop´s Ordination

Father Joseph Gan Junqiu has received the approval of both the Chinese government and the Vatican.

China's 8 million to 12 million Catholics are split between an official church sanctioned by the state and an underground church that rejects government ties and answers only to Rome. The bishop's consecration signals warmer ties between Beijing and the Vatican.

Stefanie McIntyre reports. SOUNDBITE:Lu Guocun, Vice Chairman of the Patriotic Catholic Association, saying,(Cantonese):
"We were very happy to receive approval from the Vatican. We don't oppose it, but this bishop was picked by us last year in October."
Qun Gang, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson saying,(Mandarin):
"We hope that Vatican can view the Sino-Vatican relationship from a broader situation and can take into full consideration the history and reality of China's Catholics society."

dear people of God !!! The church started never said Catholic belong to Roman. if u want to said Roman is the 1st who convert received Christ mean you are totaly wrong ! Remember Peter is the one who refuse to aknowledge Christ for three times but Christ put his trust on him because he repent. He might have received approval of the Vatican and the Communist Party - but i seriously doubt Jesus would approve of someone belonging to an organization that swore to destroy all faith and has murdered millions of Christians around the world. Up to this day countless true Christians who insist on truly following God instead of the Communist Party get persecuted and killed in China - not to mention all the other people of faith who are persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party now.
