I danced to my heart's content; not just listening, but feeling the beat.
"Hey, you!" That familiar voice called, then followed by high heels clacking against the wooden floors.
"I heard you're after my boyfriend." Destiny smacked her gum.
"I'm sorry?" I stammered, unsure of what's going on.
"I heard you telling Mrs. Kent that you like Nick!" Destiny snapped, shoving me to the floor.
"I'm-I'm-I'm sorry." I stuttered.
"Well, I came to tell you to BACK OFF! We're still very much together; in fact, he just dragged me off to a closet and sexed me." Destiny smirked.
I'm not an idiot and I knew they had broken up a year ago.
"I don't believe it." I mumbled.
"Oh, you don't?" Destiny fake-gasped, pulling out a little tape recorder. "Then let me show you the evidence."
She played the tape and it most definetly Nick's voice.
"Just stop it." I cried. "Why are you doing this to me?"
"Because no one dates my ex." Destiny snarled before walking away.
I picked up my stuff and ran out.
On my way to the school's front door, Nick came up to me.
"Has Destiny already talked to you?" He panted.
"Yes, she told me about your little playtime in the closet." I choked.
"You have to believe me! I was raped!" Nick told, but I could tell it was a lie.
"Why don't you save your lies for someone who cares?" I sniffled.
"Okay, listen: yes, I f***ed Destiny; yes, I feel bad about it. And I don't know your name, but I'm in love with you." Nick admitted. "You never told me your name."
"Scarlett." I whimpered as tears continued to fall.
"Okay, I know this is gonna sound crazy, but Scarlett, I love you." Nick whispered, pushing my hair behind my ear.
My breath got caught in my throat as his lips neared mine.
I closed my eyes and, unexpectedly, his soft lips touched mine.
Nick's arms slid around my lower back and pulled my body to his.
This kiss was everything I have ever dreamt about; Nick cradled me, his lips crushed mine.
My hands found their way to Nick's curly locks, tangling themselves.
He pulled away, leaving me speechless.
"Scarlett, will you go to the fall formal with me?" Nick asked, searching my eyes with his.
"I guess I could." I giggled.
"Nicky?! What are you doing?!" Destiny screeched.
"RE-dumping you." Nick chuckled.
"I had sex with you! And THIS Is how you repay me?!" Destiny shrieked.
"Sorry," Nick shrugged.
He pecked my cheek.
"May I drive you home?" Nick sweetly asked, taking my hands and lacing our fingers together.
"That would be nice." I blushed.
And with that, we walked away: boyfriend and girlfriend.
