Thought I'd show the PC Engine's arcade card in action.

  • I don't understand why Chintosoccer1's comments are marked as spam. It's true that the PC Engine ports of the NEOGEO fighters blow the SNES ones away.

  • @bigolebadassbob Not sure why either. Have marked them as not.

  • "there doesn't seem to be a guard, unless I'm missing something VERY obvious"... lol

  • @outtriggers I still didnt find it several playthroughs later :p

  • BTW the Flickering in the shadows is caused by your LCD TV, i assume that there's some lag in the controls too, that's normal on TFT's.

its all TV videoproccesor's fault, newer Tft TV's have that problem almost solved, but overall, all LCD HD displays suffer from lag input and video distortion issues when used with older gaming systems, pre-Dreamcast.

  • @chinitosoccer1 It's a Samsung HDTV. The controls seem fine on all the games I've played.

  • I was pretty impressed with the PC Engine version. It does look pretty good considering the age and compared ot other ports. Even worked well with just the standard pad.

  • The PC Engine was such a beast of a machine. It's a shame that it flopped in the states.

  • @bigolebadassbob something called fanboyism you should kno dat.

  • @Retro1Gamer Art of Fighting on the Pc Engine has scaling.

  • it's between the genesis and snes when it comes to this game.scaling that is lacking makes this a bit of a boring look and who owns a pc engine anyways?.i sold mine i tought the system looked strange graphically 16bit games that tend to look nes alike,i know that it's an 8 bitter but genesis was more impressive for me,even sega cd letb me cold genesis did a better job then sega cd technically.i'd go with the genesis version,it's fast cheap and looks/sounds good.

  • @Retro1Gamer

I've played both versions of FF2, and the PCE one had bigger characters and more animation frames. The characters also scale size on the PCE one and doesn't on the SNES one. Moreover, the SNES one was missing the intro, and the field was letter boxed. I'd say the PCE one is better overall.

  • @Retro1Gamer I suggest you to get an actual PCE duo or a Super CDrom 2 with an Arcade card expansion, or even try it on the emulator, because I cant tell by your comments that you have never actually played any of PCEngine ports.
