Jesus understands our times of deep distress, our melancholy; but he doesn't want us to remain so. When he ascended to God, the Father, He gave us the Holy Spirit to comfort us and point the way to Him. We are never alone. We can have peace in the storms of life. Furthermore, we do have the hope of seeing Jesus some day, face to face, where no storms come.

John 14:15"If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. 18I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

Lyrics to "No Storms Come" by the Innocence Mission:
I have desired to go
oh, I have asked to go
where a few lilies blow
to fields where flies no sharp and sided hail
and springs not fail
and springs not fail

and I have asked to be
oh, I have asked to be
out of the swing of the sea
where the green swell is in the heavens dumb
and no storms come
and no storms come

  • Gerard Manley Hopkins: Heaven-Haven A nun takes the veil I have desired to go Where springs not fail, To fields where flies no sharp and sided hail And a few lilies blow. And I have asked to be Where no storms come, Where the green swell is in the heavens dumb, And out of the swing of the sea.

  • i love this group and i know they have a spiritual messages in their songs but how do u know what jesus is really thinking u dont know i am not making this out to be mean.......... jesus is not blonde and blue eyes sorry to say he is somewhere from the middleeastern part of the world

  • @haldir515 You have some good questions. I didn't interpret the song to be about the thoughts of God. To me going to a place where no storms come is when I'm in sweet communion with Jesus no matter what turmoil is going on in my life. I was following the dove as I strung together the pictures. No one really knows what Jesus looked like, but we do know where he was born. I just liked the doves that were next to his face in this image.
