here's my contest entry hope you like it i think it turned out pretty good :D

I slowly walked back to the castle staring at the necklace the whole time. I couldn't believe that Abigail was really gone. I couldn't help but think that I was the reason why Abigail had left and I had no possible way to find her. When I got back my parents started asking questions, but I ignored them and went straight to my room. I laid in my bed staring at the inscription on the necklace: Love is patient. I was determined to figure out the meaning. Then it hit me, the only explanation I could think of, Abigail would come back in time and see if I waited for her, and I would.
"Joseph get down here!" I heard my mom yell, waking me up.
"I'm still sleeping," I responded.
"Not anymore you're not. There's people waiting to meet you," my mom called back to me. Great another girl that my parents want me to marry.
"Coming," I reluctantly responded. When I got downstairs I was surprised, there wasn't just one girl, but three. Great, just perfect.
"So we realized that you never like any of the girls we introduce you to, so we invited three princesses over this time," my dad said.
"Must be my lucky day," I said sarcastically. All through dinner I couldn't get Abigail off my mind, I wasn't focused on dinner and my parents could tell.
"Joseph, you have to get married at some point, please try to look interested next time and maybe you'll find a girl you like," my dad lectured once dinner was over.
"I already did," I said under my breath.
"What?" my parents asked.
"Nothing," I replied.
Every day for the next six months I would find time to slip away from my parents and all the potential wives they brought home to go back to the lake. I would just stare into the water and look at the necklace Abigail had given me. It probably wasn't the best idea since it always put me in a bad mood thinking about how stupid I was, but somehow I couldn't let myself forget about Abigail. I looked back to the lake and saw Abigails reflection.
"Abigail!" I said as I quickly turned around only to find that I was talking to the trees. I groaned in frustration. Her reflection had looked so real, I still remembered everything about her as if I had seen her yesterday.
"Joseph, you really need to improve your mood," my dad told me.
"Well, maybe I don't want to," I said as I quickly walked by him.
"You'll never find a wife with that attitude," he said.
"Good," I replied.
A few times I headed over to Abigail's house and looked through the window at the empty house. I even went in once and just sat on Abigails bed thinking about the time when I had snuck in. It's been a year and a half since Abigail told me she was leaving. I still go to the lake every day with the necklace and stare at it. My mood hasn't improved at all and my parents are frustrated as ever with me. Whenever they invite someone over for me to meet I all but ignore them. I can't tell you how many girls have gotten frustrated and just left in the middle of dinner, not that I care.
I was sitting at the lake when I saw Abigail's reflection in the lake, again. "Just go away," I sighed knowing it was just my imagination.
"If that's what you want me to do I will," I heard a voice say. Did my imagination just talk to me? I turned around and saw Abigail standing there.
"Abigail!" I yelled running and giving her a hug.
"Why did you tell me to go away?" Abigail asked confused.
"Every once and a while when I would sit at the lake I would see your reflection," I told her.
"You actually waited for me?" she asked surprised. I guess she didn't expect that, maybe she moved on.
"Of course. Love is patient right?" I said. "Did you wait for me?" I asked her.
"Well..." she said slowly, her voice trailing off. I sighed of course she didn't wait for me.

so this would be the cliffhanger... did Abigail wait or not....
i would be so excited if you choose me! :D
