they had a article on this in dirtwheels a few years back , me and a buddy did this to his yfz it was supposed to make it from the wr 450 timing to the yz 450 timing, it worked preatty good you could tell the difference big time more bottom end grund and less hesitation all though the yfz's were known for the bog , wich the boysen accelerator pump would take care of the most of it .

guys i don't know much about it BUT what the diference with stock cam and mod cam?i have a yfz 450 also n everything is stock but run good.

this is cake, you take the tensioners loose i had to take my fully out. At the moment my yfz threw the rod bearing, im having to take the whole case apart then have someone balance the case. Shew, should've bought a honda. lmao

what is the best aftermarket cams? hot cams, weisco, webs...I want something reliable an lil bit more zip.

Nope, they didn't chage anything in 2008 just a few stickers and painted the rims and coil overs it should be fine with the cam-mod Something must have have happened when you did it, no offense but you have have done it wrong

Cool i seen this in dirt wheels and done it to my yfz..... You could tell a big difference.. it took all night for us to do it.. but when we got it done it was worth it.. GOOD FOR HILL CLIMBING..

I DID NOT MAKE THESE VIDEOS! I found them extremely useful in working on my '04 yfz a few years ago so I am passing them along. There videos are from '04 so I do not know if any of this will work on the new yfz's. This mod changes the timing to the yz450f specs.
