I don't know how many times I saw them live... well, every time they played in Melbourne from about '73. I had such a crush on Microphone Conway!

I have the vinyl for "Smoke Dreams", and it's not too hard to find it on CD.
If you can get find it, the documentary "Jim Conway Blues" is well worth the search. It took me two years and a lot of emails to the production company to get a copy. Then I had to get it converted from PAL the NTSC, heh.
Whoever is posting this CMWB stuff, thank you a million times. I am having a ball watching them.

Jim Conway now plays harmonica with the Backsliders

In a sane man's world, these fellows, and not Olivia Newton-John, would have been the biggest thing to come out of Australia in the 70's.

One of the greatest and most proficient Jug Bands of the last 50 years... They make most of the 60's Revival Jug Bands here in the U.S. look sick. I got a promo copy of "Smoke Dreams" in 1975 for a couple of bucks at the tender age of 14. They were the best thing to happen to pop music since the Bonzo Dog Band. Mic Conway ought to be a National Treasure to Australia.
