WARNING: Some foul language. David Wieseckel, who recently moved to Galveston from Minnesota, shot this video of a waterspout that formed over the Gulf of Mexico near the Galveston Seawall on August 30, 2009. A waterspout came ashore and damaged several buildings about 19 blocks from where this video was shot. Read more at www.galvnews.com.

  • I was there at the time and took a photo. I don't think youtube will let me post a link.

  • I got a good picture of it on my cell phone while lightning was behind it. We were at the Poop Deck when it made land fall. WOW it was something else.

  • We had 2 Tornadoes near Joplin Monday. I have discussed this tornado with the staff of KOLR 10 IN Springfield MO. I met all 3 Meteorologists back in April and told them about this unexpected storm. I wish I had not moved to East Beach but stayed where I was so I would have experienced the tornado.

We have allot of chasers in Southwest Mo.

I was in Miami Oklahoma when the sirens went off the other night. There are videos of the storm on youtube. Look under July 12 tornado.

  • We are getting ready for some of the coldest weather we have had in Missouri in 7 years. I liked your August Tornado better. Read on down.

Keep warm Galveston our cold is coming your way.

  • Ted this is the tornado-waterspout

    I was referring to.

I believe this is the only video taken unless the Galveston Police have released their's.

That would be the one where the windows were blown out of the patrol car......

Notice that this video site is

    The Galveston County News

They have been in the media business about as long as Springfield has been around- Maybe longer....

  • I didnt see it at first but then you see it. I had a fun time cleaning my back yard, b/c my neighbors roof was in it. Plus his car was in the palm trees. It tore up dolphin world and missed my house by a few feet.

  • I'm sure this must be the one that hit land the other day....I'm probably about like about 2 block from where it hit. Glad I wasn't living there this day

  • They must have removed it. I was trying to figure out where the foul language was myself. Unless WOW AND COOL are considered foul language. ha.ha....

Belo Watch. I am sure they would not allow anything inapproiate on their video.

They are a very conservative business in Texas. I think they own channel 8 in Dallas as well as The Dallas Morning News.

  • On the header it reads " Warning some foul language". When does the foul language occur? Also is there video of the damage this caused?
