  • this girl knows very little about darlingtonia californica...

  • This is crap ;/

  • @theamazingplant2

Yes I was just commenting that you CANT grow it like a venus fly trap like she says

  • @Psycatalyst ahhh so i guess it was a misunderstanding then. we basically agree on everything.

  • @theamazingplant2

    After you wrote:

"lol thats dumb. nor air circulation? "

in response to my statement about not growing them like flytraps. I asked where the circulation in the terrarium was.

Nobody here puts their plants in the refrigerator or reduce watering during winter. Both the SF botanical and UCSC arboretum never treated the plants differently in winter which at 1:50 was about drying them. Both coastal and mountain varieties always have water running through the roots in situ.

  • @theamazingplant2

Yes I am aware of what I said. On the first comment I said

"You can't grow it like a flytrap. No air circulation."

In reference to 0:40 where they said to grow like flytraps and 1:04 which mentions that they are in terrariums. I said growing them like fly traps was not correct because can tolerate a more compact mix with little or no air circulation. Then you posted the rhetorical statement

"lol thats dumb. nor air circulation? "

Trying to show I didn't know anything

  • @Psycatalyst omfg did you read a single thing i said? i grow mine outside in illinois, it stays out all year. and im not in a terrarium. if it were in one, it would die. in case you didnt notice, in your last comment, you said "no air circulation" and " we also dont give ours a dormancy period"

  • @theamazingplant2

Yes I do it come from Serpentine mountains here in California. It does not grow in woods either it is in fens. All of the ones here are outside and yours probably need a dormancy period because your in a warm area but none here. How is there air circulation in the terrarium? You cant grow it there because of the lack of circulation. Venus flytraps also tolerate a more compact mix

  • @Psycatalyst lol thats dumb. nor air circulation? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHERE ITS FROM? LO LIT LOVES AIR. it also likes sun. and it needs a dormancy period! wtf i bet yours will die.

  • You can't grow it like a flytrap. No air circulation. Also direct sun does nothing to it. All of ours are in the sun. We also dont give a dormancy period.
