Dani: "Ellie, are you okay?"
Ellie: I looked up and Dani had sat beside me on the bench. "Yeah...I just...don't want to see him."
Dani: "If you don't mind me asking how do you know Noah?"
Ellie: "We have history together. He visits New Jersey every summer, that's where i'm from. He has family near by and we ran into each other the summer I was entering 9th grade, high school. We hit it off and hung out a lot, he was a total sweetheart." She raised her eyebrows, surprised. "And then I saw him again over winter break and I told him I was afraid we wouldn't work. Because we went months without seeing eachother. He didn't like that, and he left. I didn't break up with him but he was angry and I didn't talk to him again until the summer going into 10th grade. We reconnected but I ended things before he went back in the beginning of August."
Dani: "Why did you end things with him?"
Ellie: "Because at first it seemed like...love. But then I realized it was just a summer fling to him and he was still seeing other girls over the summer from 9th to 10th grade. He had changed. And I had my own shit to deal with, I didn't need anything else from him."
Dani: (I didn't feel like pushing her so I let her end it at that.)Do you still..love him?
Ellie: "No, of course not." Right?
Dani: "Wait a second! Things got rocky over winter break and then you officially ended it in august last year? So almost a year ago?"
Ellie: "Yeah...?"
Dani: "You're the reason."
Ellie: "What reason?"
Dani: "I knew it was a girl! I knew that's why he changed! He was a huge player in 8th grade...I know weird cause he was like 14 but he was a horny kid. Anyways, he came back after summer and was a total sweetie the whole freshman year. All the girls wanted him but he turned them all down because he was in a 'relationship'. We all thought he was making it up but I guess he wasn't. Then sophomore year came around and he was back to his younger self, laying anything that had 2 legs and a V."
Ellie: I rolled my eyes at that. I was so angry! I didn't cause him ANY harm, he was the one who changed my life...who hurt me, not the other way around! "I want to be alone."
Dani: "I'm sorry, Ellie. I didn't mean it like that, I wasn't blaming you."
Ellie: I knew she didn't mean it. "It's okay. Just go." She got up and went back to the party. I made my way to our room and was about to unlock it when I realized it was already opened. Smart Dani, leave it open for a bunch pathetic girls to come and steal my shit. I went inside and took my took my top and shorts off, ready to throw on a huge t shirt and curl up in bed. I threw my left boot across the room and the other one the other direction. It hit something or what I thought was a something and it let out a deep grunt. Oh my God, there's someone in my room. Holy shit, calm down Ellie. I grabbed the nearest object which unfortunately was a giant water bottle. "Don't come any closer!" I yelled to the whoever it was, I was totally freaked out I mean it was pitch black in here so I couldn't even tell if they were right behind me. "I'm armed!" I stepped forward and bumped into what felt like a person, I let out a huge shriek and stepped back.
