Chapter.3
Joes POV:
After I got out of the shower I dried myself off along with my hair and slipped on a clean pair of boxers with my black skinny jeans and a white button up shirt with my red converse. I looked into the mirror, my reflection was horrible. I had deep dark circles under my eyes my hair was a crazy mess and I hadnt shaved in god knows when. I needed to try and make myself look presentable for my brother. I didnt need someone feeling sorry for me and bringing up Ella again. It stung my heart as I thought of her name again. I blow dried my hair straitening it. Personally I didnt give a shit what I looked like anymore. I knew I really needed to shave though. Or somebody would mistaken me as dog. After I got done shaving I felt my phone going off again. I dont want to really talk to anybody right now but I knew it was probably Nick. Nobody else calls me. I grabbed my phone from off the bathroom counter and answered it.-hey man-nick said a little too loudly into the phone. hey nick, whats happen- -Not much just excited to see you bro, I miss you- I hated it when he said that. It made me feel like a piece of shit. A worthless brothers that I know I am.-I miss you too buddy- -So you almost ready?- Nick asked me.-yeah Im ready right now- I said walking into the living room staring out the window at the view when I noticed Nick parked on the side of his street talking to me in his car. I laughed a little. It felt kind of good to laugh. -dude next time you might want to pick a better place to hide from me next time- I said half smiling. After I said that Nick turned his head smiling at me from his car.-So get your ass out here, Im starving. I just hung up and walked out to his car. Here goes nothing. I thought.
-Yeah Ill have the steak and salad please?- I said to the waitress. She looked a little too young to be serving at such a nice restraunt. -Ye-yes err I mean coming right up- She said before running back into the kitchen. -What was that all about?- Nick said looking towards the kitchen. I shrugged my shoulders. -She was like 13 dude, its no biggy- Nick gave me that smile, god hes about so say something really stupid. -I think she likes you dude- Nick said, still smiling. I was right. Totally stupid. -Nick she is 13, Im not a molester- Nick just laughed. About 20 minutes later we finally got out food. -Thank you- I said looking up but the girl was already gone. Wow. I took a bite of my steak as nick ate his cheese burger. -This is delicious- Nick said with his mouth full. I just smiled laughing at him. As we finished our food. I smiled at nick saying, -Its really great to see you man- Nick smiled. I really did miss him. -I have some news..- nick said in a cracking voice. -what is it?- -Me and Alex are moving- I got kinda sad when he said that. He was the only one I had to talk to and I couldnt stand him living farther away.-Where?- I said slowly. -New York- he said with a smile. My head shot up. -You mean it?- I said my smile getting wider. -Now theres the smile I havent seen in a while, ever sense Ella- Then it was gone. My smile was instantly gone. All happiness, all emotions inside me were gone. It was just blank. All because Nick mentioned her name. He obviously noticed.
-Joe Im so sorry- he said in a apologetic tone. I shook my head -Its alright man, It still hurts me a lot.- -I know you miss her Joe, but I dont think Ella would want this kind of life for you- I looked at him. His eyes were full of concern, and worry. I knew he was right. Maybe I should start turning my life around. -youre right- I said my voice weak sadness. -Of course I am, when am I not?- I laughed a little half smiling. Nick always knew of some way to cheer me up. -How about we get out of here?- Nick said placing a 50 dollar bill on the table. I smiled getting up and walking out the door.-Hey Ill meet you in the car- I said to nick as I quickly walked back inside the restraunt, to the little waitress who was cleaning out table. As she turned around I smiled handing her a 20 dollar bill. -Thank you for the wonderful meal, this is for you- She gradually took the 20 and smiled saying thank you. I flashed her a smile saying -No thank you- as I calmly walked back out to Nicks car getting in, and driving back to my place.
