This is an excerpt of an interview with William Shatner included on the "Star Trek V" special features disc. The absolute ridiculousness of his B.S. is mind-blowing in the best possible way.

  • hahaha 80's shatner was such a douche

  • It's not so much what he's saying as the way he says it. He thinks he's some kind of philosopher king, but he doesn't actually have anything to say. He's sort of like my film teacher: desperately trying to convince himself he knows a goddamn thing, despite learning what he was teaching us off Wikipedia, AS HE READ THE ARTICLE DIRECTLY TO US.

  • @NempholyErrormoa I could not agree more. It doesn't happen often, but you've pretty much said everything for me. Kudos.

  • @coolcow4321 So why exactly is "his BS ridiculous"? I can perhaps agree that "make love to the mountain" might be an awkward comment for the kiddies on YouTube to hear, but everything else he said was perfectly rational and actually quite wise. Is it just BS because a funny song was made from the interview? Or do you perhaps not understand what he is saying? Or are you just on the Shatner hate train? I'm not a trekky or anything, I just think he spoke wisely.

  • I'm getting on the mountain just watching this.

  • "Captain Kirk is climbing a mountain". Fair enough Shatner -> "Challenge the rock". Yeah I see what you mean. "This human being Kirk, representing all human beings, climbing higher than himself". Yep, you've sorted out some kind of psychological metaphor. "There's reason to think if a crystal can regrow itself, that's one of the criteria of life". WHAT THE FUCK SHATNER???

  • It's rule 34 in action before there was even an internet. Somewhere out there there must be mountain porn.

  • @tgmnewman that reason is called LSD

  • Gotta love the Shat.

  • there is reason to believe that granite is alive.
