The eighth grade at Pierre A. Capdau-UNO Charter School has released "In That We Wrote So Much & Came So Far". Students in Ms. Kelly Rauser's eighth grade language arts class attended a year of writing workshops given by the Neighborhood Story Project (NSP). The resulting book was unveiled during a release party at the school on Wednesday, May 27.
The anthology features poetry, vignettes and photos of the contributing writers; and was brought to press by the Neighborhood Story Project. The book begins with UNO Charter School Network chief executive officer Dr. Andre M. Perry's call to educators to listen to the voices of students, and is followed by Kareem Kennedy and Abram Himelstein of the NSP explaining the methodology of the book.
