DIA-BEATABLE - by MC POTATO-CHIP
-------------------------------------------------------
M to the C, potato to the chip
That was my name and my story's like this:
I used to eat what I wanted - more than I needed
Triple burger large fries with a soda to complete it
That was my lunch, but I had the same for dinner
Needless to say, I didn't get any thinner
But I didn't care cause it tasted so good
I even ate a bag of chips every chance that I could
But then one day my mouth got dry
Couldn't quench my thirst; couldn't figure out why
My vision got blurry - no explanation
I was up all night with frequent urination
(4 measure 'pee break')
(1, pssss, uh uh, 2, pssss, uh uh, etc) *pee shiver*
So I went to the doc and said yo, wassup?
I sleep all day and my vision's messed up
Every little thing puts me in a bad mood
I'm even yelling at my kids "Get your own junk food!"
First he asked me about my diet
& I was like what?! Never tried it.
He said "No son, what you been eaten?"
& I was like (record scratch stop).
(with music stopped, a humourous conversation with the doctor)
(Music in with the lyrical continuation)
BEEF! With Salt and Grease
I wash it all down with a bucket of sweet
I finish every meal with a candy bar
You should see all the wrappers piled up in my car
The doctor looked at me, then he shook his head
"A life like this and you'll soon be dead"
He ran a few tests and then he said to me
"Looks like you have diabetes"
I fell to my knees, I was devastated
I felt all my dreams being terminated
I never thought something like this could happen to me
I looked up at the doc and said "How could this be?"
He said "Part of it's genetic, but look at yourself - Don't you know a bad diet equals bad health?
But don't lose hope, this can be beatable.....
Diabetes is treatable"
(Chorus)
Diabetes is treatable
Sometimes even dia-beatable
It's up to you to make the change
Stay strong and you'll break the chains
I decided that I wasn't going out like that
I went to the gym and started burning some fat
I took my meds, I took my shots
I gave up all the foods that put me in this spot
No it wasn't easy, it was far from swell
Have you and junk food ever said farewell?
But I knew that I had to keep control of myself
I knew them tater-chips had to stay on the shelf
I never gave up and I never gave in
I found that life is better with only one chin
One year later and I'm feeling so good
Feeling even better than I thought that I could
One last thing I gotta say to you
It's time to be honest with you know who
Take sole responsibility for yourself
Make good choices when it comes to your health
(Chorus x 2 followed by ending)
That was so cool.

I'd like to point out that this rap is talking specifically about TYPE 2 Diabetes, NOT type 1. I hate it when people confuse the two. Type 1 cannot be caused by diet.

@rachpach9 Thanks for your comment. Yes this is targeted to Type 2 Diabetics. The intended audience for this video was for people that can make a choice and change their life.
