@NYChica23 Ay Chica... "a little jealous"??? The brother was about to have a fit when Maks showed up at the family barbeque. Check out the scene where Laila's showing Maks how to cook the chicken. Her fiance was in the background watching them like a hawk. And... the guy next to him looked like he was telling him "Chill Curtis, it'll soon be over!" ..... LMAO

@ohsnapiam59 Actually... Maks did get to mention her in several interviews but always in reference to Laila being a "very private" person. Yeah... I think she broke off all contact because of her wedding plans and "common sense". You could see her fiancee's "anxiety" toward the end of this season. Maks was definitely getting on his nerves!!! I've seen all their videos and Laila was definitely his "sultriest partner" to this day.

@AlbieVO5 Oh yeah, I agree. And most telling, after that season, he took time off...remember? And never mentioned her. Personally, I always thought that her family nixed any chance of anything happening. She certainly did blossom under Max's instructions...not fully, but still...I will never forget her fiancée's face when she did that walk over Max in the second dance. If you get a chance, watch it. You can see him to the right of Laila. His face is like 'WTF?'

@ohsnapiam59 I agree... these two had and incredible connection. You could see it in Maks eyes as the weeks progressed. Laila was the one that got away.

They may not have won but IMO she was his best partner. He and Mel had fun, but they didn't steam like these two.
