Pronutro TVC

About month ago I finished working on a TV commercial for Pronutro, a local and very South African cereal. It finally came on air last week and I just got permission to post it.

The ad is 30 seconds long and a mix of animated and live action. I was only the drawing monkey on this project. All the animation and direction was done by my client Masters & Savant. I believe the concept came from THEIR client.

It was tons of fun, a crap load of drawing and sometimes a little frustrating. They wanted a classic comic book look, with halftone dots and misprints on old paper texture so I got to explore my love for old comics as well

Almost every element in a frame had to be on a separate layer from every other element. Then if any piece had to move, it also had to be done on a separate layer, so arms on people heads etc had to be separated coloured and redrawn. Like I said a ton for drawing for only a few seconds.
