75 dollars for this wonderful projector was a steal! Note: Not for HD video projection only 720x900 lines of resolution, plenty fine for the ol' Xbox 360, though some times the blurs annoy a bit.

Also I sharpened the image due to poor camera lighting. The image is much brighter but its hard to show on an HD-Camera system.

75.00 on walmart.com though I have heard the
store ran out...

pretty good, some say it works with the lights on, but i'm not entirely sure if thats true...all the videos I see of torpedo working with lights on usually involved diffused lamps or lights.

Zoombox I believe had a dvd player built in.
Torpedo is a modification of Zoombox.

Also for some reason I cannot respond to my comments, some sort of problem with the html code. So I'll try to fix that in due time.

  • are you so f**kin serious dude. i bought the zoom box when i just came out. i got the last one from the famous TOys R us. i know its a child place but its right across my house lol. well i bought the zoom box for $249.99$ plus tax wich was like $26?.??$. wich i regret it works but it has to be really dark.

  • what size is the image showing

  • Oh my god what song was that?

  • HEY WHERE DO YOU GET IT CHEAP? I CAN ONLY FIND IT FOR 100 dollars! tell me

  • does anyone know the difference between this zoombox and the first one.I still have the original and was just wondering if this one had anything special on it.

  • dude where did you get it? its now EXPENSIVE!! tell me

  • Get an IN1, Its much better

  • You need the same version as me The Pal version is called the AL-100 Alien Entertainment Projector. you can get um on ebay although that doesn't solve the one you already have.

  • Yeah there is a PAL one too. What he did was buy the NSTC projector I live in Uk an I got the same thing in PAL it's called the AL-100 Alien Entertainment Projector.

  • it would involve taking it apart an replacing the lamp, and the piece that produces the screen door effect if I remember ( I sold mine for an HD one) but with those two upgrades I know you can improve video quality.

  • i just got this projector , its great with white colors but once u get to black you cant see the image , dont wast your money . im returning mine, save up and get a nice one for around 600 dollars.

  • What kind of modification do you suggest?

  • I'm sure with abit of modification you can make it work really well.

  • In my review #2 I show you this thing up close to the screen and from farther away. Farther away, (although the camera doesn't catch it), the human eye can still see the "window screen" effect, but it's not that horrible. I mean, it's a toy after all and can't be compared to "the real thing".

  • is that how it really looks like or is just the camera?

  • No, there is no remote. Basically, your dvd/xbox is a "tv" but with no monitor. You don't even NEED a tv if you use this. Use the remote for your dvd/tv or whatever you're using. All you have to do to the projector is turn it on or off once you get it set up (in focus and that kind of thing).

  • I was reading about zoombox and it doesn't have something that the Torpedo does, but I can't remember what that was. For what it's worth, I got mine on ebay cheaper, even with shipping, than what I'd have to pay at target plus sales tax. The ONLY drawback to torpedo is the "screen door" effect. It's like the picture is being projected through window screening, but that doesn't bother us. It's a fun little thing to have. I accidentally dropped it 3 times and it's still going.

  • Im looking at these and ive been wondering should I get a torpedo or zoombox? does the torpedo have a remote? And they stopped selling these on walmart a week ago, so should i try ebay or what?

  • walmart online

  • It uses a 35 watt halogen bulb if that's any indication of lumens...even with a lamp on in the room, I can still see an image on the wall well enough to watch. It's a fun little toy, not as bad as some people make it to be. I mean, don't expect HD out of it, ya know? LOL

  • We discovered that the image is much better on, literally, a silver screen. We pointed at the base of the tv, which is a silver kind of plastic (most electronics come in this kind of casing) and the image was MUCH brigher. Can't wait for summer...projecting onto a silver tarp outside in the backyard...that should be fun for movie night!
