@Arlease37 She went back in the house because she thought her friend's daughter was still in there after it caught on fire, but her friend's daughter was already out of the house. Linda Darnel was staying at a friend's house when it caught on fire.

Discovered when she was only 16 she took to acting like a duck to water. Convincing as an innocent girl or the jaded woman, she could play them all, and did, opposite some of the very best actors of her time.

No offence but this was typical Hollywood treatment of their "stars" building on their looks,individually or as a couple and more or less ignoring their prowess as actors.Great couple,great individuals forever missed.Thanks for a most evocative post.

Thank you for making this beautiful tribute to such a beautiful lady, Linda. I have tears rolling down my face after seeing her beaufiful face and thinking about the tragedy in her life especially the way she died. It just tears my heart out to think to think of such a beautiful lady in and out was burned so bad. Life just isn't fair!

Yes, she was actually called The Girl With the Perfect Face by the film industry. Her face is perfectly symmetrical. Jacqueline Smith from Charlies Angels has the same quality.
