  • I need to say you made a big mistake, never install those hoses on the heater control valve dry, lube the inside , so they just slide right on, otherwise you may end up damaging the piping to the heater core and having to replace it again,.

    THEY ARE FRAGILE

  • I was worried about breaking those actually. I wasn't aware that you need to lube them, that would make it totally easier to get them back on thanks!

  • i am reinstalling a heater valve on my 97 ford ranger. and i diont remember which way the arrow is supposed to be on the heater valve it self can you help me. i have a 1997 ford ranger 4cyl.

  • Sorry I didn't respond earlier, perhaps you've solved your problem by now? I've never replaced a Ford control valve so I can't honestly say that I can help you but I would think that the arrow should be going in the direction of your heater core if it's a 2 port valve.

  • by the way my fathers a mechanic., and judging by the looks of that clamp u were talkin about on the hoses u dont have to replace as long as they dont break if they are the ones im lookin at, as long as nothings cracked or broken, check your thermustat! that some times sticks open and allows cold air in, anything ya wanna know ask away i may know a solution haha

  • Awesome, hopefully everything else will stay together but I'll keep you in mind buddy :)

  • Nice comprehensive video! As I too own a Chev. Astro Van (1993) I may need your instruction some day.

I too have posted a video about replacing the blower motor in my van. Check it out when you have time.

    Again... Thanx! _Anthony

  • Enjoyed your repair job video.

  • I replaced the thermostat last year but you're right that's another possible problem. A couple months ago I replaced the heater core and apparently the valve decided to go with it not too long after..

  • i do all my work to my vechile myself as well i learned quite a bit from working on my 84 civic and my 99 accent haha
