One of 2008's biggest documentary films is about to be unleashed onto screens Worldwide. SALUTE is a film by Matt Norman, the nephew of 200m Silver Medalist Peter Norman who was involved in one of the most powerful moments in Olympic history where Tommie Smith and John Carlos gave their Black Power Salute at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Being released through Paramount Pictures and Transmission films in Australia on the 24th of July 2008, and then around the world shortly after Salute promises to be a wake up to what's happening today especially with the 2008 Beijing Olympics just around the corner.

Just read about this story on the bbc news websites. It is an incredible story and such a shame the Australian Olympic team didn't acknowledge Peter Norman during the Sydney Olympics in 2000. The bloke should have gotten a knighthood. R.I.P Peter Norman.

Dear Peter, I wasn't born during Mexico '68, but my father told me all about it years later - he was an African student in London at the time. You really are a hero - I can't believe people treated you the way they did simply because you supported your fellow human being. Because of you, I am me today. I was sorry to hear about your death, but I know you're in a better place; this world is too evil for a soul as beautiful as yours. And you were blessed with a nephew like Matt.
